A little about me

My professional profile.

I like building things.
And understanding why they work.

I’m Jaime Camacho García, a computer engineer from the University of Castilla-La Mancha. My work connects software development with networks, electronics and system integration.

I have gained engineering experience at Cojali, Tecnobit–Grupo Oesía and Itecam. My projects combine programming, testing and documentation, from game agents and automation to a vehicle teleoperated over 5G.

Engineering in practice.

Experience in development and integration teams. Each role has shaped how I approach a problem: understand the context, build a solution and verify that it works correctly.

Autonomous vehicle simulation and control

I developed a Python simulation testbed to compare PID, Pure Pursuit, MPC and gain-scheduled PID for autonomous path tracking using a kinematic model and four test tracks.

  • The gain-scheduled PID uses pre-calibrated gains that vary with vehicle speed and path curvature.
  • I recorded tracking errors, speed and control actions for comparison and integrated MQTT telemetry.

Video transmission and communications software

I contributed to the development and integration of video transmission and network communications software for embedded avionics systems.

  • I tested video capture, encoding, transmission and playback with FFmpeg and GStreamer, and debugged streams, timestamps and protocols.
  • I configured and validated network equipment in Linux, including stability, persistence and administrative access checks.

Embedded Linux development

I worked in the Embedded Linux department on the development, integration and validation of software for industrial-vehicle telematics and diagnostics.

  • I created Yocto/BitBake layers and recipes, built system images and tested peripherals, GPS/GNSS, DMA and power management.
  • I updated Jenkins build pipelines and configured static analysis with CodeChecker to compare new, resolved and outstanding findings.

From design to testing

Three subsystems. One operating loop.

01 / Control station

Python captures input from a G29 wheel or PlayStation controllers. The web interface shows video, commands and connection status.

02 / Communications

Azure and Socket.IO provide signalling. WebRTC carries video, audio and control commands between the browser and Android.

03 / Vehicle

The Android phone bridges the mobile network and the ESP32 via USB. The MDD10A motor controller and servos turn commands into motion.

Formula Student · UCLM

I contribute to the UCLM Racing Team vehicle telemetry system, from data acquisition to a web interface for the team.

I work with ESP32, CAN bus and an SN65HVD230 transceiver to process signals from the AiM MXL2 dashboard, including engine speed, temperatures, voltage, braking and throttle sensors. The design includes mobile-network transmission, Supabase storage and a web interface for live and historical data. Integration and validation are ongoing.

Water Puzzle search algorithms
Heuristic search

Water Puzzle search algorithms

State-space modelling and comparison of breadth-first, bounded depth-first, uniform-cost, greedy and A* search.

The program models states, valid actions, nodes, the frontier and visited states. It reconstructs the solution path and records solving time. The project studies different search strategies on the same problem.

How I approach a project.

The way you work matters as much as the tool. These are the skills I put into practice when developing and collaborating.

Critical thinking

Measure the problem, test hypotheses and distinguish causes from symptoms.

Resilience

Iterate with prototypes and adapt when real-world limitations emerge.

Commitment

Support development with testing, documentation and a review of the result.

Teamwork

Coordinate interfaces and tasks in projects involving different disciplines.

Personal growth

Turn feedback and technical reviews into specific improvements.

Learning

Learn new tools and validate them with working examples.

Creativity

Combine software, 3D printing and electronics to build prototypes.

Digital skills

Work with code, version control, systems and diagnostic tools.
